I have always had a passion for storytelling.

Before founding Blue Hyphen Creative, LLC, I worked for more than two decades in fundraising as a writer and editor, grant manager, and prospect researcher. I’ve helped all kinds of organizations—civic, healthcare, arts, education, historic preservation, and libraries—tell their stories to great success. My proposals have raised millions in grants from foundations, corporations, individuals, and government agencies for many nonprofits in northeast Ohio.

I hold a Certificate in Editing from the University of Chicago, am fluent in The Chicago Manual of Style, and have earned a Microsoft Specialist Certificate in Word. I also have a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Akron and a master of library science degree from Kent State University. I am a member of ACES: The Society for Editing, the Editorial Freelancers Association, and Chicago Women in Publishing.

I enjoy copyediting academic works (theses, dissertations, etc.) and have experience working with both native and non-native English speakers. When I’m not fussing over commas, I enjoy performing with the Venner Clarinet Choir and Wadsworth Community Band.
